The Senior Assistant Director, Undergraduate Admissions – California reports to the Associate Director for Regional Programs and manages admissions activities in California and surrounding states with a particular focus on Southern California. With increasing inquiries, applications, and enrolled students in recent years, The West Coast has emerged as a primary market for GW and we are seeking an accomplished admission professional who will build upon this success. Outstanding territory management and relationship-building skills are the highest priorities of the position. The person in this position will closely collaborate with other regional directors located in Texas, Seattle, and the Southeast.
The individual selected for this position will also be the point person for one of our living and learning communities within the first-year admissions process. They will serve as a liaison to the academic program and will be responsible for training admissions staff on how to both recruit for the program, but also make admissions recommendations for the program in the application review process. They will also coordinate with the program leader on yield initiatives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Represents GW to prospective student and their families;
- Attends college fairs, evening programs, and professional conferences;
- Visits high schools;
- Organizes regional information sessions and yield events;
- Evaluate freshman and transfer applications;
- Oversees the admissions process for a living and learning community;
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with key secondary school constituents;
- Works with alumni and parent volunteers to support GW’s enrollment objectives
