Family Promise of Hudson County (FPHC) is a nonprofit organization affiliate. We are part of the National Family Promise nonprofit. We assist with the transforming of the lives of Hudson County families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Family Promise of Hudson County is seeking a Program Specialist who can come aboard no later than June 24th, 2024.
The Family Promise of Hudson County Program Specialist plays an essential role in running FPHC’s client programming smoothly. The Program Specialist position entails:
- Intaking of potential client applications and then processing those applications according to the program requirements.
- Meeting with the Managing Consulting Director for application review and moving forward with program acceptances and denials.
- Preparing and processing acceptance letters, landlord contract paperwork, and payment vouchers for clients that receive acceptance.
- Communicating effectively with potential and current landlords about rental assistance program specifics.
- Communicating with clients about their specific program requirements.
- Being responsible for the intake of client paperwork (acceptance, paystubs, lease, landlord agreement, etc.)
- Assisting case manager with client meetings (ie scheduling) and keeping records of all meetings in the client folders.
- Organizing and implementing Special Projects (Back-to-School Drive, Christmas Drive, Donations, Uniform Drives, Thanksgiving Food Drive, etc.)
- Grant research, writing, and monitoring
- Keeping an organized account of grants submitted and received while assisting and following through with grant requirements.
- Attending during normal business hours, 4-6 virtual community-based meetings, grant information meetings and grant technical assistance meetings per month as a representative of FPHC.
- Assisting the Research Director, Case Manager, and Managing Consulting Director as needed
This position is a virtual part-time (approximately 12-15 hours a week) position. It requires felixibilty in hours, a computer/laptop in addition to stable internet access. Other projects are deadline-based.
We require job applicants to have the following skills:
Day-time availability is REQUIRED to attend weekly virtual meetings, thus if you currently have a full-time job that you work Monday - Friday during normal business hours of 9-5 you will not be a good fit.
- Ability to work independently while prioritizing and managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and resources is required.
- Ability to meet project based deadlines
- Proficiency in database administration to create and implement controls that will ensure the accuracy and quality of records created, captured, and managed.
- Proficiency required in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- HMIS experience is preferred.
