Provides patient support and expedites the diagnostic work-up in the mammography department up through diagnosis. Provides education, support and follow up to women as they progress through this process. Coordinate transition into Clinical Care Management.

Job Essentials
Assist with coordination of multidisciplinary breast cancer and imaging information in conjunction with the Clinical Care Coordinator.
Call back all patients with an abnormal mammogram and assist in follow up. Coordinate appointments that require diagnostic services with radiological, surgical or primary care provider.
Explain image-guided procedures knowledgeably and in detail. Answering patient`s questions and notifying primary care office to initiate referral if needed.
Schedules patients and coordinates biopsy procedures including stereotactic, ultrasound core, and localizations. Follow-up on biopsy results. Notify appropriate physician with results. At discretion of clinician, may give results of biopsy to patient.
Maintains educational/informational levels related to mammography and diagnostic radiology and current trends in breast cancer.
Participates in appropriate breast center development and implementation work teams that focus in service and educational outcomes.
Works with mammography transcriptionists to resolve problem case list to include letters and pathology surveys (MRS resolution).
Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience in a diagnostic imaging department.
Medical Terminology experience or completion of a Medication Terminology class.
Experience in a variety of computer programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
Hearing/Listening, Manual Dexterity, Seeing, Speaking.
