Alva Manufacturing is a fast-growing Aerospace Machine Shop located in city of Placentia currently supplying parts to Boeing Defense, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and many more. We utilize the most latest CNC technologies including 5-Axis Milling, Multi-Axis Turning, and Automated-Pallet Changing/Lights-out Production systems. The Senior CNC Mill Machinist is responsible for setup and operating of 3, 4 and 5 Axis Milling machines. Candidate must be able to setup and operate milling machines used for the manufacturing of precision parts to a high degree of competency. Able to hold tight tolerance requirements as close as +/-.0001" and .002" True position.
The senior Mill Machinist will have the opportunity to learn different automated CNC Milling systems to advance their career including auto-pallet changing and robot tending machines. We are looking for both shifts below. Average Overtime is 10 hours a week.
1st Shift Hour: 7am - 3:30pm
2nd Shift Hour: 3:15pm - 11:45pm
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Careful review of drawings, data, and programs required to successfully machine to customer requirements.
- Setting up, operating and monitoring of machines during production runs.
- Adherence to company policy concerning paperwork and work instructions.
- Notification of supervisor if errors or problems arise.
- Load programs into cutting machine using a network connection.
- Completing documentation of the materials and processes used in the process to maintain traceability of products.
- Properly and safely loads and unloads raw materials in CNC machinery
- Interpret drawing requirements and use gages/ measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
- Understand, interpret and edit FANUC G-code programming
- Recognize, deploy and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling
- Understand and have the ability to perform tool wear, and work offsets
- Comply with all company quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
Skills/Qualifications:
- 5 years or more related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient with Fanuc and Haas Control
- Has experience setting up 5-axis Milling machine with Trunnion table is a Plus.
- Has experience working with automation/palletized, or robotic loading system is a Plus.
- Experience performing full set-ups, program edits, and holding tolerances as tight as +/- .0001"
- Complete understanding of machine control management, including mastering of all machine code terminology, usage, along with macro programming usage.
- Awareness of cutting tool technology, using of inserts, and fixtures.
- Complete understanding and awareness of measurement and inspection tool usage.
- Complete understanding of work-holding strategies and usage.
- Must be able to work independently, but also demonstrate an ability to work productively within the department team.
- Ability to read prints and update paperwork neatly, accurately, and in an organized manner.
- Ability to increase the level of performance of peers and subordinates.
- Familiarity of the AS9100 quality assurance system.
- Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in English language.
