A vibrant school in the heart of Union Square is seeking an experienced team player and administrator who loves working with kids, teens, and adult students. The ideal candidate will be organized, computer savvy, energetic, friendly, professional, have excellent interpersonal and written skills, be able to handle multiple projects at a time, and possess an acute attention to detail. This position specifically helps with the Youth Saturday Program. However, since the kids/teens are only at the school a few days a week after-school and attend on Saturdays (with exception to M-F camps during the summer months), the Project & Student Services Coordinator will also assist the day-to-day functions of the adult programs throughout the week.
The team member will be responsible for:
- Coordinating activities of the Youth and Adult Programs
- Helping track registrations and payments
- Communicating with students and parents, leading new student orientation, coordinating, and overseeing end-of-term Family Day
- Collaborating with our social media coordinator to ensure updates and special announcements are made in a timely manner
- Helping recruit students and look for opportunities of growth for the programs
- Collaborating with other Directors, Registrars, Managers, and administrative team to assist with front desk, teachers, registration and interviews, and other school events and activities
- Will need to work evenings and events on occasion
The candidate will report to and collaborate with the School President and the Director of General Administration.
Work schedule will be:
- Tuesday-Friday 10AM-6PM, and Saturday 8AM-4PM from September-June
- Monday-Friday 10AM-6PM from July-August
Our student services staff work full-time at The Institute.
The ideal candidate has:
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience working as a postsecondary school Administrator/Registrar/or in Student Services.
- Experience in working with kids/teens in an educational or extra-curricular setting
- A passion and understanding of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) and anti-racism practices for education institutions
- Experience in education, the arts, theatre or film & tv is a plus.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of administrative staff, faculty, students, and parents
- Ability to be self-directed, flexible, proactive and think creatively
- Close attention to detail, and strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Enjoy working with kids, teens, adult students and enjoy working in a collaborative educational environment
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google programs, database software, Canva and/or Design Programs, and strong computer skills

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
