Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician will include routine tasks including, but not limited to daily walk throughs of the building visual inspections to observe any issues such as replacing burnt out light bulb/fluorescent lamps; checking the bathrooms (snaking and unclogging drains and toilets and make small repairs as well as inspecting air conditioners. The Maintenance Technician does light carpentry work, maintains the mechanical room and keeps supply room organized, assists with the movement of furniture and sometimes art work, does small painting jobs, assists with snow removal and the cleaning contractor, as needed. The position is full time.
Other Requirements
· Custodial work experience, floor maintenance experience preferred.
· Knowledge of facilities maintenance, cleaning supplies, operating floor buffer machine.
· Knowledge of hand and power tools/equipment.
· Landscaping experience.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift heavy objects up to 60 pounds
· Ability to work in adverse weather conditions such as snow and rain.
Schedule
· Flexible schedule (nights and weekends) to be determined
Preferred Experience
· Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.
Technology Skills
· MS Word.
