JOB SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Reliability Engineer provides solutions and is responsible for the development
of production processes and plant infrastructure, ranging from small component designs to extremely
large plant machinery. This person is responsible for all stages of engineering, including the
initial creation and implementation of design projects, installations, final commissioning, and
other engineering aspects through the end of assets life cycle.
JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. Lead
teams from production and maintenance.
- Utilizes professional engineering skills and is responsible for the development of design and
installation specifications along with commissioning plans. Interfaces with engineering and
technical teams.
- Develops and implements criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and
technical maintenance service providers.
- Develops and implements acceptance test methods and inspection criteria and is responsible for
the appropriateness of the testing methods.
- Responsible for results of the final check out of new installations, this includes factory and
site acceptance testing, assure adherence to functional specifications.
- Establish and lead others in the implantation of strategies to ensure reliability and
maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security
systems.
- Develops and implements engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that
adversely affect plant operations; these problems include capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory
compliance issues.
- Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical
personnel.
- Creates, establishes, and implements modifications following prototype test results.
- Develops mechanical and electromechanical projects; researching and testing manufacturing and
assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators. Responsible for outcomes.
- Creates training procedures and provides training to Machinery Operators and Maintenance
Technicians for installed equipment.
- Assume other responsibilities and perform other related duties as needed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Three (3) years engineering experience in an Industrial Manufacturing setting with a track
record of initiation and implementation of creative solutions.
- Five (5) years of Industrial Maintenance experience or closely working with an Industrial
Maintenance Department.
- Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
- Self-starter with a positive and proactive approach.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in communicating with all departments, management,
and employees.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and planning skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, inherent curiosity, and “hands on” engineering
experience.
