Job Overview:
This sole attorney litigation firm is seeking a remote detail-oriented legal transcriptionist/paralegal/proofreader with experience at creating, formatting, and proofing legal documents, including appellate briefs, complaints, answers, motions, responses, replies, etc. The ability to implement edits from a hard copy that can get quite involved is equally critical. A to transcription, the office uses an Olympus dictation system for audio files, and you will need to have the capability of allowing uploads of those audio files to transcribe as necessary into formatted documents. Accuracy, detail, and proof reading is critical. You will also be requested to review documents created, and proof them. You will need excellent language, English and writing skills. A background in paralegal work will allow for more hours and participation on cases and files.
Duties:
- Transcribe audio and Olympus recordings into written documents following Bluebook guidelines.
- Create, format and proof legal documents for lawyer's use and into which content will be recorded or entered by lawyer.
- Proof read documents quickly with skill. Editing is welcome.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of editing tools and Microsoft word, Adobe is required.
-Proficient in English language with strong writing, grammar, and punctuation skills
- Legal field knowledge of legal motion work, pleading formats, briefs, including appellate work in various state and federal courts, and the use of such documents. Paralegal background preferred.
- Previous experience in transcription, formatting or related field is preferred
- Familiarity with proofreading techniques and Bluebook requirements.
- Ability to type accurately and efficiently
Flexible hours --but able to respond and complete work immediately when work is needed. Additional hours available based upon skill set--the more paralegal skills you have, the greater the tasks that can be assigned.
Work would be delivered/requested generally between 0830-1700 but can occur on weekends.

Pay: $21.09 - $23.00 per hour
