Work Schedule: As assigned. Weekend rotation required.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for providing comfort, safety and general supervision to residents by assisting them with activities of daily living, administering medications and tending to their individual care needs, while learning their unique preferences and personalities. Training will be provided if necessary once hired.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
1. Administer medications to residents according to physician orders and document completion
2. Review med sheets each shift to ensure timely administration of medication and treatments
3. Review incoming medication physician orders for accuracy. Update med sheets accordingly
4. Partner with residents to provide needed/requested assistance with activities of daily living as outlined in the residents’ service plans
5. Observe and report resident behavior and condition changes to Care
Coordinator and Administrator
6. Notify Care Coordinator or Administrator of medications that need to be ordered or reordered to ensure adequate supply is available
7. Complete daily charting, documenting, and reporting as required
8. Obtain residents weights and vitals
9. Participate in training new employees as requested
10. Clean and disinfect residents rooms, work areas and common spaces according to cleaning schedule
11. Clean and disinfect spills and soiled areas as needed or directed
12. Assist with meals setup and clean up as needed or requested 13 .Participate in or lead activities as planned by Lake Michigan Senior Living. Assist and remind residents to participate in activities
14. Promote positive relationships with residents, staff and visitors
15. Remain awake and alert while on shift
16. Collect, wash, dry, fold and distribute laundry. Put clothing away for residents who need this assistance
17. Answer resident call lights, as well as door and safety alarms promptly

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and Experience
Must have CPR/First Aid certification or obtain within thirty (30) days of hire
