We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team and work with us in the Atlanta metropolitan area. As a Home Health Agency with over 50 plus years of experience, the Physical Therapist Assistant would get to work in a clinic environment with diverse populations of patients. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care and assist in the rehabilitation process. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans as directed by the Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' mobility, strength, and coordination
- Monitor patients' progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for performing exercises at home
- Administer modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy
- Document patient progress accurately and maintain organized patient records
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in physical therapy techniques and attend continuing education courses
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred
- Knowledge of occupational health practices and protocols
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Experience working in acute care settings such as hospitals or rehabilitation centers is a plus
- Familiarity with trigger point therapy techniques is beneficial
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Valid state licensure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
