DESCRIPTION:
The Recruiter, Admissions and Outreach plans, develops, and facilitates student recruitment programs/events and college readiness workshops. Establishes relationships and plans recruitment events with assigned high schools, community agencies and business organizations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develops and implements a comprehensive outreach and recruitment program targeting prospective students within assigned target area.
2. Coordinates and facilitates outreach for recruitment purposes to feeder high schools, community schools, corporate, community, and governmental organizations. Follows-up with prospective students and resolves potential barriers.
3. Informs prospective students on academic and career opportunities and refers them to campus and community resources.
4. Assists prospective students with the admissions process, including application, program options, application requirements, financial aid, and residency.
5. Assists in planning and organizing activities to generate leads for the recruitment of prospective students.
6. Plans and participates in events for prospective students to learn about the College’s programs and services, including open houses, information sessions, and campus tours.
7. Develops, coordinates, and facilitates seminars, workshops, and events to communicate strategies aimed at improving students' college readiness. Coordinates with Marketing Department to design recruitment materials.
8. Maintains recruiting data and trends and submits reports to department leadership.
9. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
2. One year of experience in student recruitment, admissions, or student affairs (e.g. student tour-guide or admission ambassador).

1. Experience in public speaking.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of college enrollment functions, including admissions, placement testing, advising, and financial aid.
2. Sensitivity to the needs and concerns of students from diverse family, social, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.
3. Intermediate computing skills and proficiency using applications related to the recruiting function, such as Salesforce CRM and Peoplesoft.
4. Strong verbal, written and public speaking communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Excellent Microsoft Office 365 skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to become proficient with MS Teams.
6. Ability to work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
7. Ability to present the College in a positive way.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

Finalists and individuals recommended for employment at Seminole State College must reside in the State of Florida at the time of hire and may be subject to background investigations and fingerprinting in compliance with Florida Statute 1001.64; and Seminole State College Policy 1.020; 2.020. Criminal background checks and fingerprinting will be conducted for all new employees, and for rehired employees who have had a break in service for one year or more. The Office of Human Resources will determine which background checks shall be conducted for each position, based upon its review of job descriptions and the responsibilities of the position.
