MUST HAVE PHYSICAL INVENTORY EXPERIENCE
Position Summary: The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of multiple entities. This role oversees the organization’s daily accounting operations, including the accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable departments. The Controller also helps guide the company's strategic financial decisions and serves as an integral piece of the financial health of the organization.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following, and other related duties as assigned.
- Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.

Oversees and manages accounting function on Distru (ERP System).

Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the companys performance.

Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.

Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.

Files quarterly and annual reports as needed.

Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Reviews historical transactions and ensures reporting is done correctly.

Manages all necessary tax filings for multiple entities.

Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Required Education/Experience:
- Ten years or more of related experience required.

Extensive inventory management experience

Extensive experience with Distru or other similar ERP system

Knowledge of 280-E and understanding of the cannabis industry

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred

Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation a bonus.
