About the Role
As a Hot Food Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in our fast-paced kitchen environment, working alongside the Head Chef to ensure the production of high-quality hot meals for airline passengers.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu creation, recipe development, and costing.
- Oversee the daily hot food production process, ensuring adherence to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Manage a team of cooks, delegating tasks, providing coaching, and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are strictly followed.
- Conduct regular quality checks of hot food items, verifying taste, temperature, and appearance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Monitor inventory levels of hot food ingredients and supplies, communicating any shortages to the appropriate personnel.
- Stay up-to-date on new culinary trends and techniques relevant to airline catering.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in airline catering or high-volume food production.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles (HACCP preferred).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for food and a commitment to quality.
