Job Summary
The University of Utah’s new Student Success Hub (Hub) is looking for a receptionist. The Hub is the central location for academic advising for the College of Humanities, the College of Social and Behavioral Science, and the School for Cultural & Social Transformation. The success of University of Utah students is our highest priority. This role requires strong communication skills in responding to telephone calls, in-person visitors, and internal staff and the ability to capture and process information in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Oversees reception and front desk for the Hub
Coordinates administrative operations with the Operations Manager
Provides exceptional customer service
Greets and routes visitors to the appropriate person, answers phone calls, responds to emails, sorts and routes mail, and a variety of other general office and administrative tasks
Schedules and manages appointments, coordinates meetings, reserves conference rooms, maintains calendars, and other department-related activities
Works with accuracy, detail, and maintains confidentiality
Technology savvy and uses computer systems and software on a daily basis (Microsoft suite, Zoom, MS Teams, Excel, etc.)
Maintain and order office equipment
Initiate work orders with Facilities Management and other service providers
Complete project work as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
