The Driver Training Program Specialist is primarily responsible for all elements associated with the Student Driver Training program. This includes but not limited to: Driver Trainer selection, recruiting, training, and evaluations, development of student driver curriculum and protocols, and serving as resource / liaison for student driver program issues.
Essential Duties:
· Identify and recruit qualified driver trainers.
· Develop and provide training for qualified driver trainers.
· Monitor / evaluate trainer & student performance against standards, addressing coaching / behavior issues as needed.
· Develop and oversee proper application of student curriculum and protocols.
· Monitor and coach student development and performance.
· Evaluate student progress against standards to determine suitability and development, present findings and recommendations accordingly.
· Serve as central repository for student and trainer evaluations, and distribution of new documents as needed.
· Develop and promote culture of continuous improvement and apply toward regular refinement of program.
· Administer / grade student upgrade testing (written, pre-trip, backing, driving skills) and provide recommendations accordingly.
· Serve as resource for student driver candidates to assist with transition to OTR lifestyle.
· Ability to drive a Class A truck as needed.
Other Duties:

· Responsible for maintaining and implementing changes to our company and department policies.
· Other projects as assigned by the Director – Risk Management.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Must maintain certification to operate a class A CMV (current class A CDL & medical card)
