Liberty Bar is looking for a Floor Manager to join our team.
Located in Southtown in a historic pink convent, we've been serving guests & regulars an eclectic menu & good conversation for 39 years. With everything made fresh daily in house, our craft cocktails, extensive wine & beer lists & lively atmosphere, we aim to provide our community with the great service they've come to expect.
We are looking for someone who understands not only hospitality, but the human side of this industry, as well. This position needs to share the distinctive Liberty Bar vision to all customers & staff.
The Manager will help hire, train & continue to educate all Front of House staff as well as participate in other administrative duties as necessary. This person will supervise floor staff on a daily basis, maintain respectful relations with the kitchen, manage private events & be available on duty to see that all guests (some of whom have been friends and regular customers for over 30 years) are welcomed graciously & served attentively.
This position requires an individual who can pay close attention to detail while never losing sight of the big picture, is creative, adaptable & believes in consensus management. Candidate must have excellent leadership, oral & written communication skills & the ability to recruit, develop & motivate team members. Being bi-lingual is a plus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicates & updates management team constantly
- Works with team to fulfill all restaurant goals
- Supports special projects, events, & parties developed by other staff
- Promotes the restaurant in a positive manner
- ASSURE THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Monitors the achievement of all restaurant customer service goals
- Greets all guest tables, confirming customer satisfaction
- Models & trains staff how to interact with & create new relationships with customers
- Handles complaints appropriately so that it leaves customers satisfied & impressed, reporting to the General Manager daily on these issues
- Opening & Closing duties including handling of cash drawers & overseeing FOH & BOH
- Ensures that the food tradition of the restaurant & owner’s vision is communicated throughout the staff
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
At minimum, high school diploma or general education degree & a minimum of 5 years as a server; previous management experience is preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate information & respond to requests from team members, management, owners & customers.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Has excellent computer skills including, a knowledge of Microsoft & Google Suite, professional & timely communication by email, ability to navigate a Point of Sales system - Liberty Bar currently uses Toast.
