Position Summary The bookkeeper will be responsible for all accounting functions including, bookkeeping, general ledger, reporting, and preparing financial statements for our retail-based company.
Duties and Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to:
- Code and enter vendor and expense invoices
- Run checks
- Enters inventory and reconciles each month
- Reconciles credit card sales
- Enters product sales
- Enters customer invoices and payments
- Reconcile monthly bank statements
- Prepare journal entries
- Balance general ledger and close each month
- Prepare financial statements and reports
- Works directly with CPA/CFO as needed
- Performs related miscellaneous tasks as needed
- Collect, sort and process incoming mail
- Tasks and requirements of job
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications or Education, Training and Experience
- A minimum of a high school diploma required
- Accounting degree and/or certification preferred
- At least 2 years’ experience working as bookkeeper for a retail company
- This is a hybrid position. There may be days you will come to the office.
Knowledge and Skills/Expected Competencies
- Must be computer literate with deep knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software
- Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have high-energy and an excellent work ethic
- Must poses time management and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization, prioritization, follow up, analytical and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to face multiple deadlines that must be met on time.
