Job Description Assesses, plans, coordinates, and implements orientation classes for new nurse hires in department. Assesses, plans, and implements processes to improve orientation experience. Has responsibility for assisting with development and implementation of individual education plans during the orientation process.
Experience
3 years in pediatric Hematology Oncology
Teaching experience in staff development of Hematology Oncology

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Certification Summary
APHON Biotherapy Certification as required by specialty
Current PALS and BLS certification
Certification in Specialty (within one year of hire)

Must possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Job Responsibilities
Facilitates the orientation process for all new nurse hires for Egleston and Scottish Rite including coordination of classrooms and learning facilitators for didactic sessions.
Delivery of bedside clinical nursing hours as determined by department
Assess new nurse hires education needs during didactic sessions and develop plan to address.
Collaborate with educators to provide preceptor support including development of individual improvement plans during orientation.
Active participant in interview process for potential new hires.
Perform specific responsibilities related to new nurse arrival, department introduction, and orientation process.
Coordinate multi-disciplinary shadow opportunities during orientation.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
