SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in our small but mighty accounting team ensuring the integrity of our financial operations. In this key position, you'll be responsible for recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions, ensuring our financial data is accurate and timely. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Master GAAP Compliance: Apply your deep knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to the prepare and post journal entries, create financial statements, and perform reconciliations
- General Ledger Expertise: Review monthly general ledger details to ensure assignment of Chart of Accounts (COA) and Class (Department) to each transaction, ensuring clarity and accuracy
- Month-End Reconciliation: Perform detail month-end reconciliation for assigned balance sheet accounts, including Fixed Assets, Prepaid Expenses, Deposits, Credit Cards, Accrued Expenses, Bonuses, PTO, and other accruals
- Schedule Management: Create and update detailed schedules for balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and transparency
- Journal Entry Proficiency: Prepare and post journal entries for payroll, depreciation, amortization, accruals, and adjustments using QuickBooks
- Bank Transactions: Accurately record daily bank transactions, including fund transfers and deposits, ensuring up-to-date financial records
- Interdepartmental Support: Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve accounting-related issues and queries promptly
- Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation of audit leads and schedules and gather necessary support documents to facilitate smooth audits
- Tax Compliance: Prepare Use Tax schedules for monthly prepayments and file quarterly returns in a timely manner
- Adaptability: Take on additional related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and needs of the department and business
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting with a medical device company
- Experience in a public accounting preferably with experience in a medical device industry
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Good critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management, detail-oriented, and organizational skills
- Strong collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
- Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure

The salary for this exempt-level position will be based on experience and qualifications within an established pay range.
- Pay range: $120,000 - $135,000 + Annual Bonus
