Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Insurance Eligibility and Verification Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support in a medical office setting, ensuring smooth operations and excellent patient care.
Duties:
- Assist with insurance verification and billing processes, Minimum requirement 3 years of medical Insurance verification and eligibility.
- Verify a high volume of patient's insurances 2 weeks prior to appointments.
-Review insurance coverage and verifying elgibility.
-Updating correct insurance information to patients accounts prior to their appointment.
-Answering any insurance related questions
-Communicate with insurance companies to obtain benefits information.
-Document insurance information in patients accounts accordingly.
-Assure proper Insurance Eligibility is scanned into each patient's account.
-Ensures complete and accurate demographic, third party payer collection required billing information.
-Contact patient via phone (with as much advance notice as possible, preferably 72 hours prior to date of service) to confirm or obtain missing demographic information, quote/ collect patient cost share, and instruct patient on where to present at the time of the appointment.
-Provides notification of urgent orders to the Senior Level or Group Supervisors and communicates with other departments.
-You will be responsible for timely and accurate insurance verification.
Skills:
-Knowledge of Payor Portals, to include PVerify
-Extensive knowledge of Medi-Cal ,Medicare, IPA, and Commercial Insurances.
-Extensive knowledge of Referrals and Authorizations.
-Extensive knowledge on explaining benefits to patients and staff
-Strong Communication Skills
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care
- Experience in a medical office setting
- Proficiency with medical office software such as EPIC
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Insurance Verification 3 years experience
-Ability to answer multiple phone lines
-Experience with Registering Patients in a high volume setting

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
