Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), you will be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team providing high-quality, individualized care to newborns and infants. Upholding the standards of nursing practice, you will work collaboratively to ensure the well-being and safety of patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care Excellence:
- Utilize evidence-based practice and critical thinking skills to deliver comprehensive nursing care following the Nursing Process.
- Provide patient-centered care tailored to individual needs and demographic considerations.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Coordinate safe and quality patient care through effective communication and documentation practices.
- Foster a respectful and inclusive clinical environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and support research utilization for enhanced patient care.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including competency assessments and education requirements.
- Serve as a preceptor or mentor to support the development of fellow nurses and healthcare team members.
- Evidence-Based Practice:
- Advocate for evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement efforts.
- Participate in data collection, research activities, and decision-making processes to enhance nursing practices.
- Resource Management:
- Plan and coordinate patient care across the continuum in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Contribute to protocol development and resource optimization initiatives for best practice outcomes.
Skills:
- Acute care experience
- Proficiency in pain management, including acute pain management
- Familiarity with Cerner or similar healthcare technology systems
- Knowledge of infant care practices
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center setting
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Previous experience in Mammography is a plus
- Strong background in travel nursing
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Proficient in English language with basic computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills
- Strong time management abilities and critical thinking skills
- BLS from AHA & NRP cert.
- 2 years of experience
