This position is Hybrid with 3 Days Telecommute, 2 days in office in Tallahassee Florida.
MUST have a minimum of 15+ years as a software architect or lead developer, with broad experience working with development technologies.
15+ years of broad experience working with CA Gen, Classic ASP, and DB2 for z/OS.
Experience with Informatica Cloud Data Integration will be given preference.
Primary Job Duties/ Tasks
1. Work as a systems and data analyst, provide subject matter expertise for applications dealing with complex financial business processes on large cross-functional application projects, ensuring that robust and scalable solutions are implemented.
2. Provide guidance and oversight to quality assurance on modernization of existing systems from inception through integration, staging and production environments.
3. Identify, analyze, and resolve problems and issues through the use of troubleshooting tools and techniques well as teamwork.
4. Work with team toward continuous improvement; may include design, definition of roadmaps, standardization of processes and methodologies; collaborate with other developers and architects to drive guidelines, methodologies, and documentation.
5. Work in partnership with distributed cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of the project is communicated, supported, and delivered to the highest standards.
6. Develop and apply knowledge of trends, relevant software development technologies and methodologies.
7. Produce end-state solution mockups based on analysis of modernization approach for applications and reports.
8. Provide oversight to quality assurance on all code enhancements.
9. Provide hands-on support to peers, coach, guide, and mentor others in accomplishing architecture, design, and implementation goals.
10. Drive continuous modernization; may include design, definition of roadmaps, standardization of processes and methodologies; collaborate with other developers and architects to drive guidelines, methodologies, and documentation.
11. Initiate, drive and deliver effective experiences in partnership with distributed cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of the architectural vision are communicated, supported and delivered to the highest standards; align core .NET based platform development initiatives with Department development vision, strategy and deployment.
12. Develop and apply knowledge of trends, relevant software development technologies and methodologies.
13. Provide data model planning, design, implementation, and maintenance guidance to transform legacy transactional reporting environment into time-based data models to support the office’s business needs for multi-dimensional data analysis.
14. Review interface offerings, file definitions, and standardized business processes to determine remediation required for Department financial related computing assets. Address dependencies with other interfacing computer applications. Propose potential decommissioning for unused computing assets.
15. Detail data element inputs and outputs with other systems interfacing with applications impacted by the transition efforts. Inputs can include manual data entry, direct access to other systems, and batch uploads. Outputs can include data extracts, direct access to data from other systems, and reports.
16. Develop testing strategies, data scenarios and test plans to ensure computing asset modifications are tested properly beginning with unit testing and extending through cycle testing phases.
Knowledge, Skills Required:
1. Knowledge of Financial Management business processes and systems such as Work Program Administration and Project Cost Management.
2. Knowledge of terminology and concepts of DB2 for z/OS or similar relational databases, including SQL proficiency.
3. Proficient with Computer Associates’ CA Gen workstation toolset for web server, online, and batch procedures.
4. Knowledge of IBM Z-Server, CICS, JCL, and COBOL.
5. Knowledge of Informatica suite of data integration and governance tools like PowerCenter and Cloud Data Integration.
6. Experience with development and maintenance of Software systems dealing with complex financial business processes.
7. Skilled in verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service.
8. Ability to conduct complex systems analysis and translate user requirements into business solutions.
9. Ability to integrate research and best practices into problem avoidance and continuous improvement.
10. Ability to effectively communicate and lead development teams.
11. Skill in architecting and deploying high volume, high transaction based, distributed and redundant web applications.
12. Skill with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) including IBM DB2, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
13. Ability to balance multiple demands and work both independently and as part of a team.
14. Ability to display professionalism in dealing with all levels of management and staff.
15. Ability to exhibit creativity and resourcefulness at problem solving while collaborating and working effectively with others across varied disciplines.
16. Ability to develop and manage information systems documentation in accordance with the Department’s standards.
