Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assigned Technical Operations of the Forensic Toxicology Laboratory. The position reports to the confirmation Supervisor.
On-site position located in Rancho Bernardo area of San Diego
Monday - Friday
$18.00 - $20.00 /hour DOEE
Principle Activities and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment used for preparing specimens for drugs of abuse confirmation testing, including analytical balance, centrifuges, extraction main folds and pipettes
- Performing extraction methods (liquid-liquid and solid phase extraction) on urine samples for analysis on GC/MS analyzers
- Making of buffers and reagents
- Responsible for inventory of department supplies
- Maintaining the quality of the laboratory by providing legally and scientifically defensible results, maintaining licenses, certificates, personnel files, waste management requirements, facility requirements and checks, instrument requirements and checks, security, laboratory controls, laboratory calibrators, chemical and reagent documentation, certification and labeling, chemical hygiene plan, spill response plan, MSDS's, Standard Operating Procedures and emergency evacuation plans.
- Ensured that technical personnel have demonstrated proficiency in assigned duties prior to working independently.
- Establish and ensured that the Standard Operating Procedure Manual is complete, current, available, and followed by all personnel.
- Ensured that all personnel are properly informed and communicated to in a timely efficient manner.
- Ensured that analytical methods, instruments and the laboratory information system are properly validated.
- Establishing and maintaining a Laboratory Information Management System that appropriately supports the laboratories function and purpose.
- Provide acceptable responses to internal or external corrective actions.
- Maintain certification and compliance requirements of Phamatech's testing laboratory.
- Must perform all duties and responsibilities within Quality System guidelines.
- All other duties and responsibilities assigned.
Education & Experience:
- B.S. or Equivalent experience in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, toxicology or other related science.
- Experience in a Forensic Toxicology Laboratory or equivalent laboratory experience.
- Knowledge of SAMHSA, CAP, State and Federal Regulations required.
Special Authorities:
- Support for Legal Defense.
- Responsible for Maintaining Equipment.
- Responsible for Maintaining Laboratory Supplies.
Training:
- Training required shall be conducted as defined within the Company Standard Operating Procedure Manuals.
