Cordin Company is a small, privately owned technology manufacturing firm specializing in high speed imaging systems sold principally to research institutions.
We have been in business continuously since 1957. We have served a sophisticated market mostly comprised of PhD level researchers at national and university labs, working across a very broad range of studies. Our unique technology has given us a natural monopoly in a niche market which has required very little sales and marketing to maintain. And while this market continues to be viable, it has not grown significantly, nor do we expect it to.
Throughout its history, Cordin has been a very engineering focused company. This has resulted in Cordin having a array of technology which is underutilized in the market.
With this hire, we are looking to add much more sales and marketing energy to the organization. We believe having a better balance between sales and marketing and engineering within the enterprise will have significant impact.
The immediate opportunities for Cordin to expand its market are threefold;
· Marketing efforts to support new systems recently developed at Cordin, as well as systems in current development,
· Marketing efforts on existing products, either to existing markets or new markets,
· Reconfiguration of existing Cordin technology to compete as stand-alone products.
Candidates should be self-starters capable of performing with minimal hand-holding. The position reports to the Managing Director, and interfaces with engineering and production extensively.

Skills:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This includes written and oral communications, as well as the ability to listen to and understand customers' needs and concerns.
· Marketing strategy as it pertains to reaching sophisticated, science oriented customers.
Responsibilities:
· Design, implementation and management of Cordin’s presence in the marketplace, including web site content, advertising, cultivation and/or authoring of features in trade publications, authoring of white papers, etc.
· Fostering the community of users
· Attendance and occasional presentation at selected trade shows and conferences
· Management of relationships with foreign sales agents, including visits, contract agreements, sales processes, foreign advertising and trade show support.
· Product demonstrations on site at customer labs
· Authoring product brochures and user manuals for new products
· Overseeing sales pipeline
· Participating in product pricing
· Fielding input from customers to help guide new product development
· Management of customer satisfaction, including follow-up contact after system delivery
Qualifications:
Applicant must have a relevant technical degree, with five years of sales and marketing experience in a high technology environment. Lab research experience is a plus. Published papers or conference presentations are also a plus.
Candidates without a technical background will not be considered.
The position requires domestic and international travel.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
