Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club seeks a Dining Manager who is focused on delivering excellent member and guest dining experiences in a positive and upbeat atmosphere. Our Food and Beverage offerings continue to expand and evolve here at our beautiful Country Club on the Northern Neck and we are looking for the right person to grow with us.
The right person would be responsible for:
Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dining spaces in the manner most pleasing to members and guests. Assures a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of the dining rooms. Responsible for the training of all food and beverage staff. Manages within budgetary restraints. Develops and implements programs to increase the member experiences. The individual will ensure that all staff have a positive attitude aligning with the Indian Creek culture. Candidate must have service-attitude and the ability to lead the staff in a professional manner. Candidate must be able exhibit excellent communication skills as well as ability to articulate knowledge of front of the house operations in a club or fine dining restaurant. Experience in the private club industry is a plus but not required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Schedules personnel and plans dining room setup based upon anticipated guest counts and client needs.
2. Supervises dining room staff to help assure proper service standards are being met
3. Inspects dining room employees to ensure that they are always in proper and clean uniforms.
4. Hires, trains, supervises, schedules, and evaluates dining room staff.
5. Receives, resolves and reports complaints concerning food, beverages, and service in a timely manner.
6. Assures that all side work is accomplished and that all cleaning of equipment and storage areas are completed according to schedule.
7. Directs pre-meal meetings with dining room personnel; relays information and policy changes and briefs personnel.
8. Assures correct appearance, cleanliness, and safety of dining room areas, equipment and fixtures; checks that maintenance of all equipment in the dining room and reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns.
9. Makes suggestions about improvements in dining room service procedures and layout.
10. Produces daily or meal-period revenue analyses and other reports from point-of-sale systems used in the dining room.
11. Completes monthly inventory of beer, wine and liquor.
12. Maintains an inventory of dining room items including silverware, coffee pots, water pitchers, salt and pepper holders, sugar bowls, and linen and ensures that they are properly stored and accounted for.
13. Assist in planning and directing dining events; Orders beverages and supplies needed for dining room.
14. Maintains the dining room reservation system.
15. Assists in service as needed.
16. Attends scheduled staff meetings.
17. Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees
18. Designs floor plans and assigns sections in accordance with reservations.
19. Will serve as club’s opening manager, closing manager and/or manager on duty.
20. Assures that all local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
21. Organizes and purchases beverages both related to ABC and nonalcoholic
22. Organizes work for staff
23. Effectively communicates with front and back of the house
24. Assures that the dining room and other club areas are secure at the end of the business day.
25. Sending end of shift reports to F&B Director.
26. Assists with banquet setup and supervision when needed.
27. Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Education and/or Experience:
- Experience in service industry and techniques, as well as, general to advance food and beverage knowledge
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to compile reports and analyze results
- Reasoning Ability
- Strong communicator with the utmost professionalism, basic comprehension of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and P.O.S. system experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Wait staff, bartenders, bus persons
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sometimes busy with several functions or dining rooms in use. Ability to make quick service decisions on the floor maintaining the members’ satisfaction.
Salary commensurate with experience.
