Diesel Mechanic - Level 1
DAY & NIGHT SHIFT
We are seeking a basic dedicated Motorcoach Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in maintaining, repairing, and diagnosing diesel engines and related components. The Diesel Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.
Your responsibilities are but not limited to:
· Performing routine Motorcoach and Mini-bus maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacement, fluid checks, worn parts, and light bulbs as part of equipment inspection.
· Conduct Inspections and perform necessary repairs daily.
· Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components.
· Perform tire service, including mounting, balancing repairing tires, and replacing the windshield.
· Utilize hand tools and power tools to disassemble, inspect, and reassemble engine parts and complete repairs and replacements.
· Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed and turn in daily.
QUALIFICATION:
· Must have a high school diploma or GED.
· You must have your own complete set of tools for the trade.
· Be able to read, write, and speak English.
· 2+ years’ experience in the diesel transportation industry.
· Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or in a similar role.
· Proficiency in using forklifts and various hand tools for repairs.
· Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair and maintenance.
· Proficient in diagnosing and repairing automotive systems, including air brakes and suspensions.
· Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and equipment.
· Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Energetic, hardworking, Detail-oriented
· You must be motivated and can work a flexible work schedule to accommodate the busy bus schedule. This job requires me to be able to work weekends and holidays.
· Subject to travel as needed. Must be available for road calls. Able to be on call rotation.
· Must pass a criminal background check.
