With over $2.3 billion in assets, Texans Credit Union has proudly served its members for over seventy years and is based in Richardson, Texas. As we expand our consumer lending programs. we are seeking an experienced Indirect Auto Underwriter to become part of our EPIC culture. Our main footprint is in the DFW metroplex with various relationships scattered throughout Texas.
Although we are looking for an individual with indirect lending experience we are also looking for direct underwriting experience for all consumer loan products (excluding real estate). This role will report directly to the Indirect Lending Manager. The right candidate will receive a competitive compensation and benefits plan commensurate with their experience and skill level.
Major Duties and Essential Functions:

Familiarity of underwriting auto loan applications submitted by local dealerships on the Dealertrack/Route One interface. Lending experience on the Temenos Loan Origination System a plus.

Manage credit risk and quality of loan portfolio through analysis and attention to detail on presented loan applications while complying with credit union loan policies and procedures.

Utilize superior sales skills to capture loan approvals and sell decision when declining credit applications that fail to meet credit union program guidelines.

Build and maintain strong positive dealer relationships with dealership personnel via telephone and electronic correspondence.

Promote the credit union brand by living our commitment to excellent member and dealership service, dependability, and flexible lending parameters.

Maintain objectives for application efficiency and loan conversion ratios.

Work closely with the Indirect funding team as well as other sales and lending groups within the credit union.

Prepare monthly and weekly reports on Indirect Lending program as required.

Actively support and promote the Texans EPIC Culture by promoting a unified workforce through a culture of teamwork amongst peers and help grow our market share through new member acquisition.

Employ a strong sense of urgency and ownership and demonstrate a highly professional work ethic in all facets of completing work duties.

Participate in department and inter-department meetings as requested and required.

Assist in Direct Consumer underwriting.

Requirements:
- 3 to 5+ years of auto industry lending and underwriting experience

College Degree preferred or equivalent specific job related experience

Strong sales and negotiation skills with a professional demeanor

Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work evenings, Saturdays and some holidays as scheduled

Excellent technical skills and ability to quickly learn and use multiple loan origination systems, as well as all MS Office applications

This is a hybrid position that requires working on-site at the credit union headquarters on a weekly basis.
