Located in beautiful Marietta Georgia just west of Atlanta. We are currently pursuing a search for the ideal candidate as our new Physician Assistant. Our growing practice consists of one physician/MOHS Surgeon, three Physician Assistants and two Estheticians/Laser Technicians plus support Clinical/Administrative staff.
The PA is responsible for the full scope dermatology office patient care, including initial consultations, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. The physician assistant works under the supervision of physicians on site.

Job Description/Essential Responsibilities: 2 years of Dermatological/Cosmetic experience strongly preferred
- Medical knowledge, including an understanding of pathophysiology, patient presentation, differential diagnosis, patient management, surgical principles, health promotion and disease prevention.
- Demonstrate core knowledge of established and evolving biomedical and clinical sciences and the application of this knowledge to patient care in this area.
- Identify the appropriate site of care for presenting conditions, including identifying emergent cases and those requiring biopsy, surgical excision, Mohs, consistent monitoring, referral or admission
- Identify appropriate interventions for prevention of conditions
- Knowledge & understanding of cosmetic dermatology procedures and common skin care products.
- Identify the appropriate methods to detect conditions in an asymptomatic individual
- Differentiate between the normal and the abnormal in anatomic, physiological, laboratory findings and other diagnostic data
- Optimize and utilize EMR/Allscripts/Zocdoc and other progressive web based platforms
- Write prescriptions/orders etc.
- Implement attending physician instructions for patient management in close cooperation with staff
- Perform procedures within the PA scope of practice and as directed by the attending physician (Skin biopsy / incision and drainage / wound care etc.)
- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory testing and other special examinations as requested
- Prepare succinct and accurate sign-out to facilitate the smooth transition of patient care from one PA to another PA or physician
- Assist in making appropriate post hospitalization appointments and referrals
- Communicate with referring health care providers and institutions
- Routine dermatological/acne/rash/skin cancer identification/prevention examinations
Requirements:
The physician assistant (PA) is a licensed provider who has acquired a broad range of knowledge and skills through the successful completion of a physician assistant program.
- Prefer 2 years recent experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in a private practice or clinic setting; prefer specialized training in Dermatological/Surgical/Plastics setting
- Experience with Electronic Health Record systems and Medical Office software required (Allscripts, Zocdoc, Solution Reach etc. currently used)
- American Heart Association CPR Certification required
- Must have a strong commitment to patient care and customer service
- Must have strong communication, conflict resolution, and trouble shooting skills, and a calm professional demeanor
- Must have good multi-tasking skills, a positive attitude, calm professional demeanor, and ability to work in a fast paced team environment
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and follow verbal instructions and have strong attention to detail
- Must have strong time management and organizational skills for keeping the flow of the office going smoothly
- Open to working closely with owners to ensure the practice runs smoothly
