The Admission Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the Admissions Department?s compliance with referral and admission policy and procedures in addition to marketing and conducting community outreach activities aimed at developing and increasing daniel program visibility.
- When receiving calls gives accurate thorough information about daniel programs and community resources.
- Returns any phone messages by the end of the next business day.
- Collects all documentation, then reviews and staffs referral information within 48 hours of receipt.
- Within 24 hours of admission acceptance, requests from referral source the appropriate medical, legal, educational and funding information and notifies assigned therapist.
- Within 24 hours of admission denial, communicates to the referral source the reason for the denial along with recommendations for a more appropriate treatment setting.
- When admitting a client, explains the consents, client rights and the grievance policy clearly so that the client and family/legal guardian understands.
- Completes admission consents and Intake Assessment in a timely manner.
- Completes all on-line authorizations and data submissions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of Department of Children and Families (DCF) and Administration for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) polices and procedures licensure and contracts.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of new legislation affecting admissions.
- Represents daniel accurately when attending the District 4 Multi-Disciplinary team meetings and other inter-agency committees.
- Demonstrates a wide breadth of knowledge about daniel programs and other community agencies and actively attempts to learn more about available programs.
- Maintains positive relations with Residential Program Directors about potential admissions or other census issues that may arise.
- Prepares accurate and timely weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
- Maintains accurate database of referrals and admissions and is able to produce reports.
- Monitors performance standards of Intake Specialist to assure admissions compliance.
- Assists in developing marketing and promotional materials and monitors distribution.
- Initiates at least 2 face to face contacts with community agencies to promote daniel programs.
- Models appropriate and professional behavior (i.e., dress, habits, personality, tact, etc.)
- Relates with clients, parents, peers and the general public in a respectful and professional manner in person and phone interaction.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned.
Salary:
- Bachelor's = $16.50 - $19.80/hour
- Master's = $19.50 - $23.40/hour
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Services with 3+years of relevant experience, including history with youth / families with Mental Health diagnoses required.
- Master's Degree preferred in the field of Social Sork or Counseling with 1+years of relevant experience
