Job description – Experiential Graphics and Signage Designer
BCT Design Group, an award-winning international design firm, is seeking a full-time Experiential Graphic Designer to join our energetic, human-centric design studio. If you share a passion for creating thoughtful, memorable built environments, we want to meet with you!
Highly creative applicants must be boundary-free in design expression and detailed oriented. They should be well organized, self-motivated, and demonstrate design expertise in typography, color, form, and composition.
BCT Design Group clients consist of, but are not limited to, retail, entertainment, hospitality, residential, interiors, and architectural development groups. Project scales vary and may be both domestic and internationally based.
Title and compensation are commensurate with experience.
Applicants shall:
- Possess good interpersonal skills with an ability to work independently or, within a highly collaborative team environment.
- Maintain effective communication with design manager(s) and various cross-functional BCT architectural studios and teams.
- Be knowledgeable of architectural scales (imperial and metric), sections, plans and elevations.
- Be knowledgeable in wayfinding theory, design and programming principles.
- Be detailed oriented.
- Conceptualize and communicate ideas using hand sketches, scale drawings, computer generated illustrations and photo visualizations.
- Possess the ability to two and three-dimensionally express and translate branding into built environments.
- Demonstrate a high understanding of a range of signage materials, finishes, lighting, and construction techniques for experiential graphic design elements (i.e., sculpture, etc.) signage and graphics.
- Develop design documentation and implementation for branded environments, signage and wayfinding and experiential graphic elements across all project phases that may include Discovery, Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Bidding and Negotiation and Construction Administration.
- Clearly communicate design intent, progress, and wayfinding needs to the client, design team, fabricator, installers, consultants and other key stakeholders.
- Develop graphics for various print campaigns, including brandmarks, style guides, email marketing, social media, and advertisements.
Applicants may also assist the BCT marketing team in relation to corporate marketing materials under the direction of the Business Development, Branding + Graphics Studio Director.
Submittal of a digital design portfolio and resume are required. Portfolio shall demonstrate applicable post-graduate work experience in experiential graphics, signage and wayfinding, placemaking, brand development, and identity and print/collateral material. Three-dimensional visioning skills and an ability to conceptually express them (where applicable) is a plus.
Candidate must be highly proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite software that includes InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Proficiency in 3-D visualization software – appropriate to experiential graphic and signage design (Enscape, Rhino, 3D Max, SketchUp, or others) and graphically model design recommendations for creative, convincing presentations. 3-D BIM modeling (Revit) is a plus+.
Some familiarity with basic web design principles and coding experience is another plus+.

Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience.
Education: Bachelor’s or associate degree in graphic design, experiential graphic design, illustration or comparative field preferred.
