In this critical role, you will perform diagnostic imaging examinations to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with acute medical conditions. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely imaging results, ensuring the highest quality of patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The CT Tech performs CT examinations according to physicians orders, utilizing sophisticated CT equipment, taking into account individual patients special or age-related needs.
- Utilizes knowledge and judgment in regard to imaging factors, imaging technique and patient treatment needed to produce optimal images.
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain and operate imaging equipment, ensuring proper functionality and reporting any malfunctions for prompt repair.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to interpret imaging results and assist in determining appropriate care plans.
- Follow strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
Patient Care:
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Floating: Not required within scope or between like units
- Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Certifications:
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Local Candidates: Not accepted; permanent address must be more than 50 miles from the facility.
- Required Qualifications: Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
Upon Hire:
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- Oregon Medical Imaging License from Oregon State Board
- National Registered Technologist Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Within a year of hire:
- National Registered Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology
- National Registered Technologist - Computed Tomography
- National Computed Tomography Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Boardility
Job Information:
- Pay Rate $56.25

- Location: Onsite - Portland, Oregon
- Shift: Wednesday to Friday, 7:30 PM - 8:00 AM
- On-call: Required for night shift backup one week
- Weekend Requirement: NoWeek
- Guaranteed Hours: Traveler can be called off once per pay period (every two weeks); remaining shifts are guaranteed
- Block Schedule: Accommodation status unknown
