Job Description:
Position Title: Mechanical Inspector.
Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager Department: Quality
Summary
To operate Coordinate Metrology Equipment - Use CME to verify conformance of product to customer specifications
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Verifies & documents completed machined features to customer prints & specifications
- Inspects parts in-process on machine
- Writes inspection reports as required
- Assembles documents for final data package
- Assists production in the qualification of machine set-ups
- Provides technical support to production
- Writes rejection reports as needed
- Sets up necessary inspection gages
- Performs Calibration internal to STADCO Procedures
- Outside source inspection
- Assemble a final data package that satisfies customer requirements
- Building customer confidence in inspectors integrity
- Interfaces with operators, foremen, source representatives, government (DCMC), engineering, programmers, production control, program managers, outside vendors, etc.
Qualifications:
Education, Experieance and Skills
- Familiar with ANSI Y 14.5
- Use various standard measuring instruments
- Standard machine shop math & trigonometry
- Able to perform first article, in-process, & final inspection on large precision machined parts
- Able to set up & perform open surface plate inspection
- Able to perform in-house calibrations to STADCO Procedures
- Able to make sound judgment when checking machine set ups
- Proficient in interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, surface plate work, inspection and layout work
- Able to research customer P.O., and specification including design manuals
- Capable of accurately documenting discrepancies
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 5 years minimum machine shop experience

Able to lift up to 50 lbs
