- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of all clinical hospital application programs and systems and ensures conformity with design specifications, project objectives, and departmental quality standards.
- Coordinates the design of efficient high quality clinical application programs and systems by preparing test data and testing programs, screens, and job streams in order to ensure conformity with project specifications and departmental quality standards. Creates efficient and logical program code and writes clear and concise system descriptions that meet project requirements and departmental quality standards.
- Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the clinical applications insuring that the most effective, efficient, and timely processing methods are used.
4. Provides guidance and support to staff members, aids in removing performance barriers, and facilitates effective problem solving among employees. Reviews departmental performance, identifies performance deficits, and implements prudent recommendations that promote departmental efficiency. Identifies, resolves, and facilitates the resolution of departmental problems, and encourages employees to voice ideas for better hospital operation, improved communication between staff members, and higher quality health care services.
- Aids in planning short and long term projects and oversees departmental activities related to these projects in an effort to promote departmental efficiency and enhance the quality of health care services provided by the hospital.
- Implements applications software, performs technical analyses, and updates, tests, and documents applications in an effort to ensure efficient department operation. Consults with staff on hardware and software features and restrictions in an effort to promote the provision of high quality services by the department.
- Assists in recommending, developing, and coordinating the implementation of department policies and procedures, and reviews the utilization and application of those procedures in an effort to promote department efficiency and provide high quality health care services.
- Provides education and training to new employees and/or students in Orientation and assigned clinical departments both initially and on a continuing basis.
- Consults with and advises IS management and staff members on project specifications and establishes priorities in an effort to ensure timely project completion and optimal use of departmental resources.
- Evaluates and recommends new and modified system applications by consulting with user departments about system needs in an effort to improve information system quality and efficiency.
- Monitors department projects and provides staff members support in a manner that ensures timely project completion. Evaluates work plans, reports scheduled deviations to supervisor and makes recommendations for alternative work plans in an effort to provide high quality health care services and maintain departmental quality standards.
- Maintains a good understanding of each software application and its function in the applicable area, making recommendations for equipment and software when appropriately authorized in an effective and timely manner.
- Identifies problems in the clinical areas of the Information System and takes necessary steps to correct problems.
- Logs clinical issues in the system and performs adequate follow-up on these issues.
- Keeps Director and hospital up to date on any new releases affecting clinical applications.
- Performs and completes assignments without supervision or need for follow up review while providing consistent quality and quantity of work.
- Promotes and maintains harmonious and effective relationships and communications within the department and between the department and other areas in an effort to improve the quality and efficiency of all health care related services provided by the hospital.
- Accepts constructive criticism and modifies behavior accordingly.
- Dresses appropriately for job; wears identification badge and follows dress policy for area.
- Demonstrates flexibility in adjusting to hospital and departmental needs.
- Performs various other duties as assigned and appropriate to provide for the successful operation of the computer-based information services

Minimum Education and Experience
· College degree in related technical field OR a minimum of 2 years related experience required.
· Previous I.S. healthcare clinical application experience preferred but not required.
