POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, and management of major public infrastructure projects in the Long Beach area. This position involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create sustainable, efficient, and effective solutions for complex engineering challenges. You will contribute to projects that enhance the . You will play a key role in projects that significantly affect the operational capacity, safety, and environmental sustainability of public infrastructure, working closely with public agencies, contractors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and plan infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, and other civil works, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and environmental guidelines.
- Conduct site evaluations, feasibility studies, and impact assessments to identify project requirements and potential challenges.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction managers to integrate civil engineering solutions into comprehensive project designs.
- Utilize advanced software tools for civil design, modeling, and simulation to optimize project outcomes.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and project updates to stakeholders, including project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
- Ensure projects adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license in California preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong preference for experience in port, maritime, or similar large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong communication abilities and a collaborative team-working ethic.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible engineering practices.
Primary Location: Long Beach, CA
Local Los Angeles County / Orange County candidates preferred.
