Overview:
Defines and leads the development of the data architecture for cloud-native, microservices-based SAAS system in a regulated industry.
The base salary range for this position is $94,000 - $165,000
Actual pay will be determined based upon a candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, geographic location, and my include other job-related factors such as cerntification(s), professional licensure, or internal equity considerations.

Collaborates closely with system and application architects to define logical and data architecture of system features

Designs secure, scalable, and robust data structures to ensure data integrity and compliance with FDA and HIPAA regulations

Leads data migration strategies for customer onboarding, ensuring secure and efficient data transfer

Works with regulatory affairs to understand and ensure adherence to relevant regulations

Implements data governance frameworks that maintain data integrity and security across all aspects of the data lifecycle

Facilitates iterative and incremental development of the data architecture

Encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing within and across teams to enhance project outcomes and data-driven innovations

Guides and mentors team members in best practices for data management

Promotes a culture where failure leads to learning and improvement, driving the continual enhancement of data practices

Encourages continuous professional development through workshops, seminars, and courses relevant to modern data architectures and technologies

Shares knowledge and insights on the latest data architecture trends and tools to maintain a cutting-edge approach within the team

Ensures that all data architecture designs meet the stringent requirements for security and compliance set forth by regulatory bodies

Constantly evaluates data strategies to improve scalability, efficiency, and customer integration processes

Serves as a technical expert in data architecture, providing guidance and making strategic decisions that enhance data management and usage

Drives the adoption of new technologies and methodologies that improve the functionality and performance of the data architecture

Participates in industry forums and panels to stay ahead of trends and regulatory changes affecting data management in regulated environments
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information System or other related field; and four (4) or more years of professional experience working in a data environment, (3) three of which acting as a Data Architect, preferred in an agile environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Skilled in Postgresql, preferabbly AWS Aurora Postgresql

Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)

Skilled in Redshift or similar data warehouse products

Skilled in release management and ALM tools like Jira, EasyVista, ClearQuest, or Git/Gitlab

Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)

Ability to develop formal documentation and work in a regulated environment

Ability to work independently or as part of a team; comfortable working remote

Skilled in working with Cloud Providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Skilled in working with Monitoring Solutions and Strategies like Dynatrace or Grafana plus

Must have reliable internet connect at all times

Must be able to travel 20% of the time
