Estimator(s) for Steel Subcontractor

About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Estimator in the areas of structural steel/miscellaneous metals to join our growing team. The Estimator works closely with other members of the team to support the preconstruction phase, perform bid proposals, budget preparation and assist with value engineering for ongoing projects. The Estimator is integral to our continued success in providing quality product while developing, maintaining and growing client relationships from project inception to completion.

Responsibilities include:
- Review construction documents, miscellaneous metals plans, specifications and understands scope of work to bid
- Clarify and review potential problem areas
- Execute bid takeoff and material pricing estimates
- Working knowledge of AESS finishes and workmanship
- General knowledge of cleaning and painting requirements associated with exposed steel
- Work the entire life cycle of a bid from invitation to finalizing proposal for submission to GC
- Possess a general understanding of miscellaneous metals erection phases, time units for various erection phases, requirements for crane size and location of general equipment requirements
- Bid follow up/Change orders
- Contractor/Vendor relations
The successful candidate will possess:
- High school diploma or GED, or one (1) to twelve (12) months of related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of structural/miscellaneous metals estimating, structural shop fabrication, or steel erecting experience
- Must have the ability to read and understand architectural, structural and site drawings and the application of regional building codes related to miscellaneous metals
- Basic math and technical writing skills required
- Excellent communication both oral and written, strong attention to detail, organization, multitasking and time management skills required.
- Proficient computer skills; MSOffice including Excel required
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with all levels of the organization, customers and vendors

Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
