Five Star Jewelers is actively seeking an accomplished Area Manager to oversee and optimize the performance of six high-end jewelry stores with pawn services in the Miami-Dade County area. This role involves developing and executing strategic initiatives to exceed sales targets and revenue, enhance profitability, elevate the overall customer experience across all stores all while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and providing leadership and support to store managers and associates. The ideal candidate must have a diverse skill set, including expertise in fine jewelry, gemstones, precious metals, high end watches, appraisal techniques, customer service, sales, brand financial literacy/budget management, team development, strong negotiation skills and inventory management.

Responsibilities:
Overall Store Management:
Oversee and take charge of daily activities of the jewelry stores and integrated pawn services, ensuring that all workflows run smoothly and efficiently.
Manage and maintain accurate records of retail and pawn transactions, including customer information, item descriptions, appraisal, loan negotiation terms and amounts, redemption options and dates, terms and conditions.
Develop and implement long term goals and strategies to drive sales, increase profitability, and achieve business objectives.
Analyze market trends, identifying opportunities for growth, and making informed decisions to drive the business forward.
Drive sales through effective marketing strategies by assisting in creating promotional campaigns, organizing events to attract customers.
Maintain the store's upscale atmosphere and uphold the brand's reputation for luxury and quality.
Sales and Customer Service:
Effective strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with associates and customers effectively, understand their needs and preferences, and provide personalized guidance and recommendations.
Lead by example in providing and building trust and rapport with customers through attentive service and transparent communication throughout the custom design process.
Train and develop associates on sales techniques, product knowledge, customer engagement strategies, addressing inquiries/concerns/requests.
Educate customers about our services ensuring transparency and clarity throughout the process.
Assist customers in making informed decisions about their jewelry transactions, and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
Monitor sales performance and customer feedback, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions.
Repairs: Assessing damaged jewelry and knowledge of jewelry materials.
Understanding different types of metals (e.g., gold, silver, platinum).
Knowledge of gemstones (e.g., diamonds, colored gemstones, high end watches) commonly used in jewelry construction and care requirements of each material.
Explain repair options and costs clearly and concisely to customer.
Continuous learning and staying updated on new techniques, materials, and trends in the jewelry industry are also essential for jewelry repair specialists to maintain their expertise and provide high-quality repair services to clients.
Custom-Made Jewelry: Knowledge in various aspects of jewelry design, fabrication, materials, and customer preferences.
Familiarize yourself with various customization options available for custom-made jewelry, such as personalized engraving, birthstone selection, and bespoke design services. Understand how to collaborate with clients to translate their ideas and preferences into unique and meaningful jewelry pieces.
Care Plans: Educate customers of services aimed at protecting, cleaning, and repairing jewelry pieces.
Product knowledge: Posses comprehensive understanding of various aspects related to high-quality jewelry, including materials, craftsmanship, design, and value.

Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records by overseeing, coordinating, tracking, and managing the movement of luxury jewelry items and pawn goods in and out of the store.
Monitor inventory turnover rates and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels and minimize losses.
Optimize jewelry pieces are priced appropriately, and that there is a good mix of products available to customers.
Conduct regular audits of inventory to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies or potential issues.
Manage the display of items in a visually appealing manner.
Appraisal and Authentication:
Expertise in appraising the value of high-end jewelry items and authenticating their quality.
Must have keen eye for detail and be able to identify different types of gemstones, precious metals, high end watches and designer brands to accurately assess the value of items brought in for pawning or sale.
Team Management/Development/Training:
Recruit, hire, develop, and retain associates by providing ongoing coaching, training, guidance, and development opportunities.
Set performance expectations and goals for associates, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.
Financial Management:
Monitor store revenue, expenses, and profitability, analyzing financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Develop and manage budgets for sales, inventory, and operational expenses, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Implement pricing strategies for pawn loans, redemption fees, and high-end jewelry sales to maximize profitability.
Security and Compliance:
Implement security measures to safeguard inventory, cash, and customer information, including surveillance systems and access controls.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws and regulations governing jewelry stores, pawn shops, and consumer protection, including licensing, reporting requirements/AML-8300 and interest rate limits.
Staying informed about legal requirements related to pawn transactions, record-keeping, licensing, and reporting of transactions to authorities.
Vendor Relations:
Building and maintaining relationships with vendors for sourcing high-quality jewelry pieces.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to ensure a steady supply of merchandise.
Qualifications:
Authorized to work in the United States.
Willingness to undergo background testing and drug screening.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field.
Proven Experience in high-end jewelry retail management.
Strong understanding of luxury retail sales techniques and customer service best practices.
Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and associates.
Strong leadership skills and abilities with experience in supervising and developing a team.
Proven Experience in pawn operations – regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience on jewelry appraisal.
Experience in software and point-of-sale systems.
Ability to analyze financial data, make data-driven decisions, and manage budgets effectively.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in inventory management and record-keeping.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
Bilingual - English and Spanish preferred.
