Job Description:
The Process Engineer is required to develop each projects scope and process simulations for each project assigned. Required to draft block flow diagrams, PFDs and P&IDs for each project as well as perform equipment and relief valve sizing per project. Required to participate in facilitate PHA & HAZOP studies as well as perform hydraulic analysis on assigned project. Work with multidisciplinary teams and provide updates to project managers as well as attending client meetings to discuss process design. Requires a master’s degree in chemical engineering with 1-year relevant work experience. The Process Engineer will be involved in multiple projects simultaneously, with projects at different stages, at any given time. This individual must have a continuous improvement mindset, must be able to lead and execute detailed engineering, work well as a member of a team, give clear instruction to designers, meet client expectations, and deliver projects by given deadlines.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Process Modeling in ProMax
- Works with other engineering and design staff in the development of Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s) for each project
- Works with the Project Detail group to solicit quotations for components from potential suppliers as predetermined by other engineering, design, project management and this position
- Determine scope of work to properly evaluate and estimate project opportunities/bids
- Specifying, sizing, and providing process data for equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, process towers, aerial coolers, pumps, fired heaters, filters, compressors and storage tanks
- Development of process design basis, scope of work, plant control narratives and process descriptions
- Proficiency in navigating plant 3D modeling software to identify proper layout, routing, and arrangement of equipment, piping, and instrumentation for optimum plant operation, economics, and maintenance activities
- Basic Hydraulics/Line Sizing
- Relief Valve Sizing
- Flare and header sizing
- Reviewing Equipment Drawings
- Engineering Support for Construction
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
- Five (5)+ years related experience required.
- Ability and experience applying engineering and statistical analysis.
- Intermediate to Expert skills in Excel
- Experience with ProMax Simulation
- Valid driver’s license
