Here at Argosy, we conduct daily tours of Elliott Bay and the Ballard Locks to Lake Union, as well as charters for weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, and more.
If you are looking for to fun summer job, Argosy Cruises won't disappoint! We are hiring crew members for the summer season of 2024, with training classes scheduled on July 9th and July 23rd.
Marine Operations crew members assist the captain in monitoring the vessel to ensure guests' safety while onboard Argosy vessels and docks. In addition to the safety-sensitive duties, each crew member participates in the narration of cruises, bartending, cocktailing, and set up and cleaning of the vessel while providing extraordinary hospitality to guests. No previous experience is required!
As a crew member you will perform all of the following roles as part of a daily rotation:
Deckhand
-
Handle lines for departure and arrival, conduct deck rounds and engine room checks, and perform basic janitorial duties onboard.

Participate in emergency drills on a monthly basis to ensure guest safety.

Move and erect boarding ramps at various docking locations.
Bartend
-
Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and quick food items.

Engage with guests while taking orders and processing payments using Revel point of sales system.
Narrate
-
Act as a tour guide, sharing the sights and history of the Seattle area through quality live narrations using a provided script.

Job Requirements

21 years of age or older
-
Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Pass a DOT drug test from the United States Coast Guard

Pass a post-offer background check

Ability to speak, read and write in clear English

High School diploma or equivalent
-
Travel to and from various dock locations may be required

Washington State Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (Class 12) Permit – within 14 days of hire (course completed)

Washington State Food Workers Permit – within 14 days of hire
- Lift and carry 55 pounds

Full range of motion in all extremities

Ability to navigate uneven and shifting surfaces including but not limited to vessel decks, docks, piers, dirt paths, and clamshell paths

Ability to swim

Step down or leap from a slow-moving platform with a 3-foot step

Climb over barriers 3 ½ feet high

Stoop and crouch around small spaces

Clear, loud voice communications
