Front Office Assistant
Job Description
Summary
The Front Office Assistant is primarily responsible but not limited to answering phones, welcoming patients into the office, communicating with patients, referring dentists/staff, responding to voicemails. Additional duties include check in/out of patients, managing schedules and patient records. Knowledgeable with insurance, verifying and quoting treatment expenses. Comfortable with talking to patients about cost for treatment. Able to pivot and assist where needed based on office needs.
Essential Functions
1. Uses interpersonal skills to attend to patients on the phone and in person.
2. Respond and comply to requests for information.
3. Provides respectful and considerate care focused on patient’s individual needs.
4. Coordinate and organize appointments and administration to facilitate the efficient running of the practice.

Qualifications
- Medical administrative support experience
- Proficiency in patient service and front desk duties
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and EMR systems
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems
- Previous experience in a dental or medical setting
