As a 3D Printing Technician on our team, you will be responsible for setting up prints, running printers, post-processing parts, and performing and documenting routine maintenance in our facility. Your role will complement our design engineers and customer support team to deliver high quality 3D printed medical devices to customers.
What you’ll get to do:
- Perform various tasks in the 3D printing workflow including digitally preparing parts for printing, preparing machines for printing, and maintaining printers between builds
- Post-process printed parts to prepare for shipping, including removing supports, sanding surfaces, and product-specific assembly
- Operate and maintain printers and various supplementary machines and equipment
- Inspect 3D printed parts to ensure part quality before shipping to customers
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Lead order logging, packaging, and shipping of finished products
- Analyze manufacturing performance to provide continual improvement to the process at large
You should apply if you have most of this:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science, OR >1 year of experience in lab technician role
- Process engineering mentality and aptitude for operating in a process-oriented environment
- Experience with 3D printing, particularly familiarity with resin-based printing methods
- Self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of fundamental material science concepts
This job is to start as a part-time position with a pathway to transition to full-time and an initial hourly compensation between $20-$25 per hour. This job is in-person and is located in Durham, NC.
