Job Summary:
The DHA Properties Contract Estimator is a professional member of the company, responsible for ensuring the timely and costly completion of high-quality construction projects within set budgets and meeting or exceeding profit margins. Estimators are responsible for walking projects, preparing estimates, customer and insurance company relations, partnering with the company departments, identifying necessary equipment and materials, managing safety, and timely submission of project paperwork and /documentation.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Build rapport with project stakeholders and instill confidence in your project management abilities and commitment. Continue to build relationships for future projects.
- Personally inspect property damage that may include fire, water, mold, wind, hail and other types of property damage claims.
- Communicate and sell jobs to property owner/manager.
- Prepare estimates for mitigation and reconstruction of DHA multi-family contract properties.
- Communicate with DHA contracting officer to come to agreement on all costs and scope of project.
- Ensure project completes within profit range and service level agreements are met.
- Coordinate with project manager to drive quality, productivity, and safety standards throughout the project.
- Ensure project work meets the highest standards of workmanship based on industry standards.
- Ensure highest standards of communication and customer service.
- Adhere to all OSHA, environmental, building codes, and company safety standards. Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and all regulatory prerequisites.
- Adhere to all established deadlines for documentation, project reporting, PO, billing, payments, collections, expenses, etc.
- Professionally represent, participate, and manage role in the on-call emergency rotation.
- Commit to protecting and managing company assets (vehicles, equipment, supplies, facilities, persons) to reduce unnecessary costs to the company.
- Attend and participate in all required scheduled meetings, 1:1 review, safety training, etc.
- Serve as a model of professionalism for customers, subcontractors, and internal team members.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License, clear DMV and criminal background check, and drug screen

Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience developing and delivering estimates for emergency services, reconstruction, mitigation, cleaning, estimates and projects for multi-family properties.
- Minimum of three (3) years managing fire, water, mold, hail, wind, and other property damage claims.
- Required knowledge and experience with construction cost control procedures.
- Experience working with Xactimate program is required.
- Experience working with Restoration Management (RM) program is preferred.
- Previous government contract work is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, walking.
- Ability to perform job in a variety of weather conditions and sometimes unstable, difficult unfamiliar, and unique job sites.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times, sometimes bulky and in awkward conditions.
- Ability to work comfortably while using/wearing PPE mask and gear.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
