Professional Objective:
The RT Instructor competently, compassionately, and professionally participates in training competent entry-level Radiologic Technologists in the various learning domains required for professional practice. The RT Instructor provides quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations in the RT program. The Faculty member has responsibilities that include teaching, curriculum development, advising, professional development, and community relations. As a Clinical Instructor responsibility includes providing orientation for the on-site supervisors, providing oversight of the clinical experience, supervision, and on-site evaluation of students in their clinical settings.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of a Faculty member include, but are not limited to, the following:
Teach assigned RT lecture and lab courses in accordance with established HBS approved curriculum and course outlines and relates the instruction to careers and employer expectations.
Prepare and grade examinations based upon course objectives and published exam schedule and return all assignments in a timely manner.
Effectively teach and communicate with students of diverse backgrounds.
Participate in professional development, RT advisory board meetings, student and other educational activities.
Participate in the evaluation, revision and development of curriculum and instructional methods.
Communicate effectively in memos, letters, and via email.
Be available via email and phone for students and site managers beyond assigned work hours.
Begin and end each class at the designated times, providing a full period of instruction.
Leave the classroom or laboratory clean, organized, and ready for the next user.
Submit, at the designated time, final grades for all students on the class roster.
Accurately maintain attendance records in accordance with the Attendance Policy.
Attend faculty meetings, in-service meetings, graduation and other events as required by theSchool.
Dress professionally in accordance with faculty dress code if onsite.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
The responsibilities of a Clinical Instructor include, but are not limited to, the following:
Determine assigned students' clinical rotations along with the Clinical Coordinator.
Evaluate and document effectiveness of clinical education through a schedule of regular visits to assigned clinical affiliate sites.
Ensure that assigned students complete all learning competencies required for professional practice during a clinical rotation.
Help Clinical Coordinator procure a variety of clinical sites.
Analyze and discuss execution of soft skills with assigned students.
Coach assigned students on expectations of clinical sites.
Monitoring assigned student’s attendance and mentor performance of clinical competencies while out at their clinical sites.
Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills including questioning, listening and showing concern and respect for others.
Act as liaison between the school and our designated clinical affiliates assigned to by Clinical Coordinator.
Interact effectively and professionally with students, staff, faculty, and clinical sites.
Address student needs and resolve issues with diplomacy and tact.
Obtain a signed Clinical Coordinator’s Site Visit Report for each assigned student.
Attend Orientation.
Education: Minimum of BACHELORS degree
Experience: Minimum of two years professional radiography work
Licenses and Certificates: Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and license to practice as a Radiologic Technologist by the Department of Health, State of NY.
Additional Requirements: Must meet the minimum qualifications for Didactic and Clinical Instructor in Radiologic Technology of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

To perform this job successfully, the RT Faculty/Clinical Instructor must be knowledgeable in the program curriculum, as evidenced by education and/or experience, and effective in evaluating student learning and performance.
