Position Summary: The Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s financial transactions related to both accounts payable and accounts receivable. This role ensures that all transactions are accurately recorded, processed, and reconciled in a timely manner. The AP/AR Clerk will work closely with vendors, customers, and internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable:
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payment.
- Verify and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Maintain vendor files and ensure all necessary documentation is up to date.
- Assist with month-end closing tasks related to accounts payable.
- Accounts Receivable:
- Generate and send out invoices to customers.
- Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and distribute account statements.
- Maintain customer files and ensure all necessary documentation is up to date.
- Assist with month-end closing tasks related to accounts receivable.
- Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as an AP/AR Clerk or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Occasionally lift and move office supplies and materials up to 20 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.96 - $22.83 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
