Job Description
A prep cook is responsible for the daily preparation of food items as assigned by the management team. Prep cooks ensure we use the freshest ingredients, follow sanitation guidelines and prep recipes to standard to maintain product consistency. Job Responsibilities: Prep work including, washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding vegetables and fruits along with weighing and measuring designated ingredients. Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stoves, and refrigerators while maintaining all safety standards & procedures. Properly stores foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils. Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment. Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control. Minimum requirements and expectations: Ability to take direction and to work in a team environment. Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure. Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge. Knowledge and comprehension of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures. Basic English language and professional communication skills are required. Preferred qualifications: Available to work: weekends 1+ year of experience in the food & restaurant industry Restaurant back of house skills: dishwashing Restaurant back of house skills: grill station Restaurant back of house skills: fry station Restaurant back of house skills: general food prep Restaurant back of house skills: safe food handling Restaurant back of house skills: catering setup & prep Able to stand for duration of shift.
