Currently, we are seeking a dependable Van Driver/Houseman to join our team in a Full-Time capacity.
In this role, you will be responsible for transporting guests in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner, while adhering to safe driving practices. Additionally, you will ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public vending areas, while supporting room attendants to maintain Ironwave's exacting quality standards.
Pay: $20.00/hour
Responsibilities:
- Comprehend and abide by all traffic regulations while transporting customers to and from the airport terminal or other designated site.
- Park guest vehicles and/or retrieve valet parked guest vehicles in a timely and courteous manner; use claim tickets to ensure appropriate delivery of vehicle. Move from door post to and from other areas throughout the hotel in response to customer needs.
- Re-fuel and clean shuttle on a daily basis
- Advise Management immediately of any damage to vehicle sustained during shift or to alert us should they suspect anything is needed to be service or repaired such as oil, washer fluid, windshield wipers, brakes, tires, etc.
- Greet guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Open car doors for arriving and departing hotel customers.
- Respond immediately to customer inquiries regarding hotel features, services, and assistance. Provide clear and understandable directions to hotel facilities and nearby attractions.
- Maintain driveway traffic flow to allow main hotel entrance accessibility ensuring ample space for passenger and luggage loading and unloading.
- Listen, understand, and respond immediately to guest and associate inquiries and requests for assistance.
- Lift luggage, packages and boxes from cars, buses, vans, and carts, placing items on the ground, onto baggage carts, conveyors, or other vehicles.
- Clearly communicate the features and services of the hotel facilities.
- Vacuum, sweep, and/or mop hallways, stairwells, lobby, fitness center, guest laundry, lobby, elevator landings, elevator cabs, meeting rooms, vestibules, public restrooms, 3rd floor associate breakroom/ bathroom, 2nd floor patio, Front and Rear exterior entrance areas, perimeter of building and gravel lots
- Miscellanies request such as deliver items to guest rooms such as boxes, dry cleaning, luggage, crib, towels, etc. and The Station Food Delivers.
- Clean Public Restrooms Toilets, Sinks, Walls, mirrors etc. and including re-stocking of all soaps & paper products.
- Front & Rear Glass Entrance Doors in addition to interior and exterior glass door to the The Station to be cleaned on a daily shift basis.
- Interior and Exterior windows of entire 1st floor and 2nd floor Patio/ Harrison Meeting room to be cleaned as needed.
- Trash Cans in all public spaces on the 1st and 2nd floor to be emptied every shift and based on demand.
- Exterior Trash Cans, Dog Poop Stations in addition to kitchen and Housekeeping Dumpsters to be emptied minimally once per shift and based on demand.
- Seasonal demands such as watering of plants, salting, and shoveling of snow.
- Handle Simple Guest request related to engineering in their absence such as lights bulbs, Blackout Shades, T.V. connections HVAC, Power issues and clogged Toilets.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Self-starting personality with a consistent disposition.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills with guests.
- Willingness to assist coworkers and contribute as a team player.
- Capable of lifting, bending, stooping, walking, pushing, or pulling heavy equipment and standing for extended periods. Lifting may involve items weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions from supervisors and front desk.
