Job Summary
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations, Journal Entries, Grant Invoicing, and Payroll. The position will be responsible for coordination, and daily management of these activities
Responsibilities
- Recording transactions such as expenses and revenue.
- Processing payments to OIC’s vendors to pay for supplies, materials, and other expenses.
- Sending bills to customers to request payment for services or goods provided.
- Reconciling accounts and making notes of debits and credits that have not been posted.
- Printing checks and initiating direct deposits to pay vendors.
- Generating financial reports as requested.
- Identifying and correcting any errors that occur due to data entry.
- Maintain accurate and complete records.
- Support external auditor requests.
- Actively engage and attend company-sponsored events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Essential/Training/Work Experience:
- Associate in accounting, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Excellent computer skills
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong understanding of QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Excel, and Banking systems (ACH, Positive Pay, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Work Conditions
OIC Philadelphia is currently working in a hybrid work environment that allows for a flexible work schedule. When in the offices, this individual will work in a typical office environment. On a standard workday, the majority of time is spent sitting at a desk, using the computer, and speaking on the phone. However, at times, this role will be required to attend OIC events or related outside meetings/events on behalf of the organization. These meetings/events may take place outside of regular business hours.
