An
aerospace client is looking for a
Composites Technician who will fabricate composite parts, which may include bonding prep, tool prep, ply kit generation, lamination, vacuum bagging, de-molding, trimming, and part handling.
Location: El Segundo, CA 90245
Position: Composites Technician
Pay Rate: $20/hr. - $26/hr. on W2
Duration: 6 months or longer
Schedule: 9x80 A - Ability to work flexible/changing schedules including weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate composite parts, which may include bonding prep, tool prep, ply kit generation, lamination, vacuum bagging, de-molding, trimming, and part handling
- Handle perishable materials, paying close attention to expiration dates, out time life, and traceability information
- Follows all planning, visual aids, and process work instructions. These instructions, in combination with part specific tooling, are used to fabricate composite parts and bonded assemblies.
- Operate handheld tools. (e.g.) Scissors, razor knives, grinders, drills, sanders, cutting wheels, etc.
- Excels in a team environment, supports other departments or completes other duties as necessary
- Work in both FOE critical and FOE sensitive environments and observe all related safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of composite manufacturing/fabrication experience or approved composites certificate program.
- Basic computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work flexible/changing schedules including weekends.
- Ability to work in El Segundo, CA
Preferred Qualifications:
- Composite fabrication experience in an aerospace, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
- Demonstrated mechanical ability and able to work under limited supervision
- Be able to operate autoclave and curing ovens
