Job Description:

Provide strategic credit leadership and management of the Wholesale REP business (WSREP). This includes due diligence to onboard new REPs and coordinating with Market Risk to perform period audits.

Perform daily monitoring for REP customers, include analyzing asset coverage, monitoring compliance to facility limits and other contractual covenants, analyzing trends in asset coverage, reviewing and approving disbursements from REP lockboxes, and other ad hoc requests that may arise.

Actively involved in the negotiation of credit terms in master trading (ISDAs, NAESBs, EEIs, etc.) energy managements agreements, structured transactions involving lock-box arrangements, lien-based structures, intercreditor agreements and other commodity financing structures as it applies to the Wholesale and WSREP markets.

Interface extensively with front office personnel to gather information needed for credit due diligence on transactions and/or new counterparties in the Wholesale Trading and WSREP market. This includes working with the Origination team on complex structured transactions.

Perform financial statement analysis to assess the creditworthiness of counterparties and make recommendations as to appropriate credit limits and tenor restrictions.

Lead in the development and maintenance of cash flow valuation models for power plants, oil & gas reserves and WSREP customers.

Explore the use of Credit Default Swaps, Credit Portfolio Insurance, and other market mechanism to proactively manage credit risk.

Develop “Day 2 operational monitoring” of asset heavy counterparties and develop a playbook for proactive mitigation of credit risk.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in an Analytical field (Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, etc.)

Minimum 8+ years’ experience in credit risk, lending and monitoring, or audit.

Experience in credit risk management, bank lending and/or financial audit is preferred.

Familiarity with all master trading agreements typical of the energy trading industry, including the ISDA, NAESB, EEI agreements and lien-based structures Asset and Energy Management Agreements.

Experience in credit systems implementation and software such as S&P, Moody’s, Capital IQ, Bloomberg is preferred.

Strong experience and culture in risk management.

Excellent business acumen and presentation skills.
