POSITION TITLE: Logistics Manager
DEPARTMENT: Shipping & Receiving
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
General Summary: Manage inbound and outbound shipping systems, processes and staff to ensure the efficient and economical receipt and delivery of product by managing common carrier performance, meeting customer service targets and expectations, developing innovative transportation solutions, and negotiating agreements with common carriers. Establish department goals, short- and long-term performance objectives, and budget responsibilities. Manage departmental staff accordingly to meet fluctuations in workload and peak season performance expectations. Establish outbound Quality Control processes and metrics.
Essential Job Requirements:

Generate freight quotes/prepare freight files for shipping.

Negotiate rates; foreign and domestic (export shipping).

Monitor department procedures and provide feedback to Manufacturing, Finance, Customer Service, and Installation Departments.
- Develop and maintain cost reducing initiatives

Schedule deliveries with installers.

Coordinate all deliveries.

Contact customers concerning delivery date and receipt of shipment quality

Prepare bill of lading and freight purchase orders for shipping.

Receive into accounting all shipped items by daily report.

Contact freight companies to verify timely pickup and deliveries.

Resolve any shipping problems.

Inform project manager of all pickups and deliveries.

Maintain accurate and timely updates in ERP Solutions

Supervise day to day activities of Shipping staff

Responsible for training and development of staff

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Expert knowledge of inbound and outbound shipping procedures

TL and LTL experience

Worked with steamship lines and freight forwarders

Management skills

Strong organization, communication, and computer skills

Knowledge of MS Word and Excel

Coordination of drop shipments, storage and container utilization
Education and Experience: 4-year college degree and/or equivalent experience. Must have experience that correlates with above stated knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Pay Range: $75k-$85k
